MEED Foundation Showcases Innovation and Sustainability at METEX 2025 in Erbil

6 May 2025
MEED Foundation proudly participated in the Middle East Tourism Expo (METEX) 2025, held from May 6–8 at the Erbil International Expo Center. The event attracted over 43,000 visitors across its three days, bringing together major players in the regional travel and tourism industry to showcase innovation, promote destinations, and foster strategic partnerships.
At the special “Slemani Pavilion,” curated by the Directorate General of Slemani Tourism of the Kurdistan Regional Government in collaboration with private sector stakeholders, MEED Foundation was invited to represent Sulaymaniyah’s dynamic role in tourism development. The pavilion stood out for its modern and vibrant design, featuring two immersive walk-through screens playing “Experience Slemani” footage and a third screen dedicated to exhibitor advertisements.
MEED Foundation’s participation carried a strong message of sustainability and innovation. Upholding its commitment to environmental responsibility, MEED led a green energy awareness initiative by opting for a fully digital presence—offering all presentations, business cards, and promotional content in electronic format. This paperless approach not only minimized waste but also reflected the organisation’s forward-thinking values in the digital age.
One of the most impactful aspects of MEED’s contribution was bringing the Data Revolution from Slemani to Erbil, highlighting the city’s evolving integration of data-driven strategies in tourism and development. This initiative reflects MEED Foundation’s broader mission of bridging environmental advocacy with technological advancement and public engagement.
MEED extends its gratitude to the Directorate of Slemani Tourism for the invitation and commends the successful execution of METEX 2025. MEED remains committed to supporting sustainable tourism, environmental innovation, and cross-sector collaboration throughout the Kurdistan Region and beyond.
