MEED Foundation, in collaboration with Halabja University student volunteers, contributed to the festival's success by collecting valuable insights from visitors and vendors. This effort supports data-driven initiatives to enhance future events and community engagement

MEED Foundation proudly participated as a Data Partner at the 10th anniversary of the Halabja Pomegranate Festival 2024. Over three days, our team, joined by 14 trained student volunteers from Halabja University, supervised by our team, who also worked alongside the volunteers, collected valuable data from 823 visitors and 457 vendors.

This year's festival held special significance as it marked a decade of celebrating Halabja's iconic pomegranate. The organizers elevated the event's experience by dividing the venue into three sections: local products, food, and handmade items. This thoughtful arrangement was well-received, as attendees expressed their happiness with the festival's organization and atmosphere, despite the rainy weather.

Our volunteers, along with our team who worked as much as the volunteers, displayed exceptional commitment, particularly during the last two days of the festival, ensuring the data collection was thorough and insightful. This marks the second consecutive year of MEED Foundation's involvement in the festival. Before this year’s event, the festival organizers reviewed last year's report shared by the foundation. Their efforts to incorporate the recommendations were evident, resulting in a more streamlined and engaging festival.

As a foundation, we announced data revolutions as our startup last year, and we began this journey with the vision to use data as an engine for transformation and progress in Iraq. Our goal now and for the future is to improve and position our country alongside those that effectively harness the power of data to drive societal growth. The primary goal of our data collection is to identify areas for improvement and create a year-on-year data archive that will serve as a foundation for enhancing future goals and serving our society. Through this initiative, we aim to support various sectors, particularly the economic sector, and contribute to improving research capabilities and development efforts in other regions.

MEED Foundation is honoured to contribute to the ongoing growth and success of this cultural celebration, fostering community engagement and sustainability in Halabja. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and supporting the Halabja Pomegranate Festival in the years to come, while helping create a future where data-driven solutions empower and uplift our society.
